Tonight is the last night I get to sleep next to Muffin.  For the last year or so, she has been fighting off kidney disease, a faulty heart valve, and a rather large lung tumor.  It looks like its the lung tumor that’s gonna do it.  She is fighting for every breath and whimpering while she does it.  The doctor suggested putting her down, and she has an appointment for tomorrow at 10  am est just for that purpose.  When  heard about the appointment, I flew out here to see her and partially to make sure they weren’t doing this prematurely.  I don’t think they are.  She is not doing well.

I feel pretty greatful that I had today with her.  She didnt really do anything, but I was right next to her while she was doing it.  I can tell that its time for her to go, cuz she wont to eat.  Not turkey, chicken, carrots, crackers, treats, tuna, or even bacon.  This sucks.  She was up last week for thanksgiving, and I spent some time with her then.  My dad said that as soon as they left after thanksgiving, she just collapsed and stopped eating.  She’s a great dog.  I wish i hadn’t just left her here.  She deserved better.  I’m not really all about typing my emotions on here anymore, but I feel like I need to document her as much as I can before she is gone.

I just won a staring contest with a giraffe
